Recorder Privacy Notice

This notice covers the Henad Recorder browser extension: what it records, what it sends, what it keeps in your browser and what it never does. Everything that happens to a recording after it reaches Henad is covered by the Privacy Policy.
What the recorder is
Henad Recorder is a Chrome extension that records a meeting you are in and sends the audio to your own Henad workspace, where it is transcribed and summarised.
It is an accessory to Henad, not a separate service. The brand that operates the Henad workspace decides who may use it, what happens to a recording afterwards and how long it is kept. Henad processes that recording on the brand's instruction, exactly as it does a file uploaded through the app — see the Privacy Policy.
What it records, and only when
Nothing is recorded until you press Start recording, and recording stops when you press Stop. While it runs, the extension's icon shows REC.
- The meeting tab's audio — the other people in the call.
- Your microphone, mixed into the same track. If you refuse the microphone, the recording still happens and you are not in it.
- The call's name and start time, taken from the browser tab.
- The participant list, read from the call page on Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, so the meeting has names on it.
No video, no screen, no keystrokes, no browsing history, and nothing from any other tab or any other site. When you are not recording, the extension is doing nothing at all.
Telling the other people
Recording a conversation is your decision and your responsibility to announce. In many places it is also a legal requirement to have everyone's knowledge or consent. Say that you are recording before you start.
The extension deliberately does not hide what it is doing: the icon shows REC for the whole recording, and the meeting in Henad records who started it. Henad does not notify the other participants on your behalf, and it does not join the call as a visible participant — there is no bot in the attendee list, so the announcement has to come from you.
Where the recording goes
To one place: the Henad address you paired the extension with. The recording is posted directly from your browser to that Henad, over HTTPS, when you press Stop. It is not sent anywhere else, and there is no analytics, tracking or crash reporting in the extension.
Inside Henad, the recording becomes a Meeting record in your workspace. It is stored as a private file, transcribed by Henad's speech-to-text provider and summarised by its language-model provider — the same providers and the same instructions as every other AI feature, listed in the Privacy Policy. Those providers are instructed not to train on Henad content.
Deleting the meeting in Henad deletes its transcript, its summary and the proposals made from it. Retention and deletion are covered by the Privacy Policy.
What is stored in your browser
Three things, in the browser's extension storage, on your computer:
- the Henad address you paired with;
- the recorder token that identifies this browser to that Henad — a credential, which is why it is worth revoking if the computer is lost;
- while a recording runs: which tab it is, when it started, and the identifier the meeting will have.
The audio itself is held in memory only while you are recording, and is released once it has been sent. Removing the extension removes all of it. Revoking the recorder in Henad (Brain › Meetings › Recorders) makes the token useless immediately.
Why it asks for each permission

Reading the call page | On Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams only: reads the participant list so the meeting has names instead of “Speaker 2”. Nothing else on the page is read, and nothing is written to it. |
The extension contains no remote code: everything it runs ships in the package and is readable in the source. It loads no scripts from a server at runtime.
What is never done with it
- Recordings, transcripts and summaries are never sold or shared for advertising.
- They are not used to build a profile of you or of anyone in the call.
- They are not used to assess creditworthiness or for lending decisions, and they are not used for any purpose other than producing the meeting record you asked for.
- The extension reads no page other than a call page's participant list and Henad's own connect page.
